Cooking In My Special Apron
Yesterday I had to run to Bartlesville and exchange some weights I had purchased a few weeks ago because they were broken. Earlier yesterday morning I was checking out a website that our friend Jeannie was telling me about. (http://www.education.com) It is an awesome website for anyone with kids it had TONS of learning project ideas using simple household stuff. And, since I was already going to be in Bartlesville I thought I'd stop by Hobby Lobby to get some craft supplies.
While we were there I stumbled upon some plain aprons. They were on $1 apiece....so I bought like 5! LOL! I got an adult size one for myself and the rest I got child size ones. I love an awesome bargain like that! I picked up some permanent fabric paint and stencils and after naps yesterday afternoon we decorated Devin's' apron. He had a great time! He was so excited to wear it this morning while he helped me prepare breakfast. (He is always the toaster operator!)
I also found some fabric bags that were for decorating, for $2, so we picked up one of those thinking it can be our 'to go' project bag. We'll get around to decorating it one of these days!
We had a great morning in Bartlesville stopping at Hobby Lobby, Sears, eating lunch at Garfield's, and doing a little shopping at the Gap and JC Penny. We also made a stop at Staple's. While getting out like this with two isn't easy (gotta love the double stroller) and rarely goes without someone having a meltdown (Devin at Garfield's...I thank the waitress for the mound of crackers she brought for me that helped bring it to an end) it's always a great time and I'm so glad that I have the opportunity to do things like that with my boys. <3

Sunday we headed down to Tulsa to see Mickey and the gang at Playhouse Disney Live. Jeannie and Michael joined us for the ride down and I think Devin was just as excited about getting to sit with Michael in the car. Ha ha! Devin always gets so excited to see Micheal.....and Jeannie for that matter.
Devin and Michael really seemed to enjoy it, and Gavin's eyes were glued to the stage for awhile at the begining as well. (He turned into a squirmy little worm after that though.) He was a really good boy the whole day. You hardly heard a peep out of him!
At the show were Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Daisy, The Little Einstiens, Tigger, Pooh, Darbie, Handy Manny and the Tools. I'm so glad that we decided to go. The boys had a great time!

Sneaky Little Devil.....
Little Gavin is growing and learning so much EVERY day!! One thing he has recently discovered is that there are usually lots of awesome things on top of the counters and tables. And, if he stands just right on those little tippy toes, he can reach things if they are left close enough to the edge. It's really cute to watch him hold on to the edge of the counter or table peering over the top trying to see if there is anything worth reaching for.
This morning Devin had about 1/3 of a piece of left-over toast on his plate at the table. He just so happened to leave it close enough to the edge for Gavin to see it. Devin and I were in the living room and Gavin was running around the house exploring. All of the sudden I heard Gavin's "evil laugh". (This is something else he has started doing that I plan on getting on video. He does this when he gets something he knows he's not supposed to have or when he sees someone bringing him a really good snack, such as goldfish.) He comes walking into the living room holding this piece of toast like it's a brand new crisp $100 bill. I said "GAVIN!" in a stern voice and he looked up at me and shoved that entire piece of toast in his mouth as fast as he could and darted down the hallway. I couldn't help but laugh at that little booger and I chased him down the hallway to dig that piece of toast out of his mouth. Reminds me how big he's getting and how is obviously knew I was going to take it away! Needless to say..... he wasn't very happy when I got it out of his mouth!
