Riding Thomas

Oklahoma Aquarium

Feeding the sting rays.

Walking in the underwater shark tunnel.

Looking at the shark tank.

Gavin giving it a try.

Devin wants out....can you tell?

The touch tank.

We had such a great trip to the Oklahoma Aquarium. They had a lot more activities for the kids than I thought they would and we'll surely be making a trip back soon!

The BEST hotel Swimming Pool

We stayed the night at the Raddison on 41st and HWY 169 while in Tulsa since Chris needed to help his brother for 2 days. I booked this hotel because they have a mini water park for the kids. It was AWESOME! Devin had such a blast and I think he could have stayed in that pool until he wrinkled into a little rasin. I hope to be able to go back soon when Daddy can take Devin to play also. I know those two would have a blast there. Again, Chris's mom stayed with me at the hotel to help with the boys and was a HUGE help.

Thomas the Tank Engine in OKC

As most of you know Devin is obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine and trains in general. When I heard Thomas was going to be in OKC I just HAD to take him. While we were there Devin got to see Sir Tophum(sp?) Hat and Thomas the Tank Engine. They had a HUGE building FULL of Thomas things and Devin had a great time looking around. I would have liked to stay longer but it was hot outside and the boys had been up since early in the morning so we needed to hit the road and head back to Tulsa where we had more activity planned. Chris was in Tulsa helping his brother put a new shingles on his roof. I really wish he could have come with us because Devin was SO excited and had such a great time! They're having a Christmas train in December at the Oklahoma Railway Museum and I'm hoping we can take him to that. They're telling the Polar Express story, singing Christmas carols, and having hot chocolate. I know Devin would love it.
Luckily my mother-in-law was able to come with me to help with the boys. I don't think I could have done it without her help. Thanks Grandma Carol!

Corn Maze & Pumpking Patch

I'm still waiting on the invention of the 3rd and 4th arms....

Devin had more fun chasing this poor cat around than anything. I think next time we should just take him to a pet store!

The pumpkin that he picked out. Don't pay attention to the clothes. His Dad dressed him that day and met me in town for dinner with the boys. Always risky! You never know what they'll show up in!

Breakfast Time!

My New Shaklee Business Venture!

As some of you might know I've joined Shaklee as a Independent Distributor. After I tried their products and fell in LOVE with them I just couldn't stop raving about them to everyone I knew. So, I thought while I was telling everyone about them- maybe I could make a little extra cash in the process.

As you all know I've always told everyone when I've found a new product that I love. That's just what I do! Especially when it works well- and is a great bargain! I'm ALWAYS looking to save a buck or two! Who isn't?

Well, once I found out about Shaklee's GREEN products- I was HOOKED! These products are of outstanding quality and are an exceptional value. As of now I've only tried the cleaning products, but they also make beauty and nutrition products. If these other products are anywhere near as wonderful as their cleaning products I can't WAIT to try them.

So far I've replaced my laundry detergent, fabric softener, automatic dishwasher powder, hand soap, dish liquid, mopping solution, dusting spray, bathroom cleaner, window/mirror cleaner, disinfecting spray, toilet cleaner, and general all-purpose cleaner. Pretty much everything in my home used to 'clean' is now SHAKLEE!

While I keep learning more about his company I continually astounded by their commitment to keep everything from nature and the lengths they go through to make sure their product is of the best quality.

They test their product three times- once before heading to the extractor, once after coming from the extractor, and once before the product is released for distribution- for any contaminates. If they find any kind of contaminate they pull their product and find out where it is coming from and don't distribute their product again until the problem is fixed. In one instance they found lead in a product (Ginseng I believe) and pulled the product. They were one of the only companies to do this. Either the other companies didn't know that their product was contaminated- or didn't care. Shaklee went to the extractor and tried to find the problem. They found out that some lead balls used during the extraction process were contaminating the product and helped the company to fix their problem. To me this is just ONE example of a company that is extremely committed to creating an outstanding product.

Anyway- I'm so confident in the performance of these products that I'm lending out my Shaklee "Get Clean" Caddy for a week. In this caddy you'll find:

1- 16 oz. spray bottle of Basic H2 All-Purpose Cleaner (Great for every day clean-up of counter-tops, tables, chairs, ect. You can also use this mix on a dusting cloth to dust you whole home.)1-

16 oz.spray bottle of Basic H2 Window/Mirror Cleaner

1- 16 oz.spray bottle of Basic H2 Degreaser

1- 16 oz. spray bottle of Basic G (This is a germicide and works anywhere you want to kill germs! Bathroom counter tops, sinks, around the toilet, on kitchen counters after you've prepared meat, ect.)

Scour Off Heavy Duty Paste (Works GREAT removing soap scum from shower and tubs, also works great on cleaning your oven and is FUME FREE!)

2 oz. of Basic H2 Full Strength (This makes 4 gallons of mopping solution.)

2 tbsp. of Nature Bright Laundry Booster (You can use this as a stain remover or add it to your whites instead of chlorine bleach. You'll be AMAZED how this brightens your whites!)

This gives you the opportunity to try these products without making ANY investment. If you've been thinking about going GREEN with your cleaning supplies this is a great opportunity. Even if you haven't been thinking about going green with your cleaning supplies- I can almost guarantee these are more cost effective than what you're using now and in my opinion they perform better than anything I've ever used. AND everything with the "Get Clean" label returns to nature within 30 days. It's a safe product to use around your family- including your pets.

Contact me and I'll bring you the "Get Clean" Caddy to sample for a full week.

A Day in the Life of A Stay At Home Mom (of 2)!

Just for all those out there who don't think that a 'SAHM' is a real job....read on!
3:30 a.m. Awake from a peaceful slumber to a shrilling cry (Worse than an alarm clock trust me...there isn't a snooze button located on a baby. Trust me...I've looked!)

3:45 a.m. Return to bed to finish part II of my night sleep.

5:06 a.m. Hubby's alarm goes off. While I keep saying that I'm going to start getting up with him in the mornings- I went without a good night sleep for close to 6 months....I deserve a few weeks of sleeping until 6:30 a.m. as a reward now that Gavin is sleeping through the night.

6:10 a.m. Awake to a more pleasant noise of mobile music. Gavin is stainding up pushing buttons. The bad part about this is that if he wakes up happy- there is little luck that he will go back to sleep. He's up for good. I'm off to his room to play milk cow. For some reason my house smells like 'breakfast'. Wierd.

6:25 a.m. Change Gavin's diaper. Set Gavin down in the toy room so I can go potty and pour a much needed cup of coffee. I discover the reason my house smells like breakfast. My husband (who NEVER cooks anything- unless nuking it in the microwave counts- decided to cook some sausage links that were in the freezer. I'm baffled.) Turn on the computer and check my e-mail, Myspace, and Facebook. (To some of my friends out there it may appear that I'm always online. Actually, I just never remember to log off. I'm usually leaving the computer in a hurry. I check my e-mails and such a few times during the day.)

6:30 a.m. Off to play with Gavin in the toy room.

7:00 a.m. Turn on the T.V. and listen to Good Morning America while I start a load of towels.

7:15 a.m. Devin comes running from his room yelling "Go pee Mom!" (This week I'm no longer "Mommy". For some reason I'm now Mom.)

7:20 a.m. To the kictchen to get Devin breakfast while Gavin plays in the living room. Devin requests the usual cereal. This morning he also gets a sausage link since Daddy cooked this morning.

7:25 a.m. Move towels to the dryer.

7:35 a.m. Clean up Devin and dismiss him from the table. Prepare Gavin's breakfast.

7:40 Go do the living room to get Gavin. HOLY COW! IT SMELLS AS IF SOMETHING DIED IN GAVIN'S PANTS! Change Gavin's diaper and then take him to his highchair to eat.

7:50 a.m. Gavin done eating. Clean up and take him back to play with his brother in the living room.

7:52 a.m. Unload the dishwasher, load with breakfast dishes, spray down and wipe chairs, table and countertops.

8:00 a.m. Make beds.

8:05 a.m. Back to the toy room to play with the boys.

8:35 a.m. Sneak away to fold towels and start another load of laundry.

8:40 a.m. Bring both boys to the living room and let them watch some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while I dust and clean windows.

8:55 a.m. Move laundry to dryer, start another load. Resume dusting.
9:20 a.m. Back to entertain the boys.

9:40 a.m. Nurse Gavin and put him down for his nap.

9:55 a.m. Get Devin dressed, take him to pee and outside to play. We'll usually stay outside until Gavin wakes up from him nap. Locate the portable mobile and head outside.

11:05 a.m. Gavin is awake. Back inside to change a diaper and play until lunch.
11:45 a.m. Off to prep lunch.

12:00 p.m. Lunchtime.

12:30 p.m. Take boys to living room to play and back to kitchen to clean-up lunch mess.

12:45 p.m. Play with the boys.

12:55 p.m. Devin to pee and to his room of afternoon nap. I explain to him we aren't putting the gate up in his room anymore, he is a big boy and if he gets out of his bed he will be in trouble.

1:00 p.m. Devin makes a request for water. To the kitchen to get a sippy.

1:05 p.m. Devin darts from his room. I take him back to his room and explain to him that he gets one more chance. If he gets out of his bed ONE more time....he's in BIG trouble and Mom will be VERY mad.

1:20 p.m. Devin appears to be asleep, shut his door.

1:22 p.m. Take Gavin with me to the laundry room and let him play on the floor with some toys while I fold and hang laundry on my little portable laundry rack.

1:30 p.m. Nurse Gavin.

1:45 p.m. Put Gavin down for his nap.

1:46 p.m. To the computer to check e-mails, ect.

1:50 p.m. To the shower- FINALLY!

2:10 p.m. To the kitchen area to sweep floors to mop.

2:30 p.m. Gavin's awake before I can start mopping. Ugh. Get Gavin and change his diaper.

2:35 p.m. Push mop in one hand and hold Gavin with the other. Gavin cries from the sound of the mopping machine so I have to hold him. I have a Hoover FloorMate so it's more like vaccuming making holding a 20 lb. baby in one arm a little easier.

3:05 p.m. Done mopping.....my arm serisouly feels like it's going to fall off. Dump solution and put mop away.

3:10 p.m. Change Gavin's diaper and nurse him.

3:20 p.m. Wake up Devin from his nap and take him to pee. If I let him sleep much more than 2 hours he wakes up during the night it's hell getting him back to bed. TRUST ME- it takes everything I have to wake him up....I enjoy the quiet time TOO much!

3:30 p.m Put chicken in the oven for the chicken and black bean enchiladas I'm making for dinner.

3:45 p.m. Set Devin up at the kitchen table to play with some water colors while I clean out the refridgerator and Gavin plays in the toy room.

4:15 p.m. Chicken done. Shred chicken and assemble enchiladas.

4:30 p.m. Enchilada assembly done. Clean up kitchen. Get Gavin and let him play on the floor of the kichen with some pots and pans while I paint with Devin.

5:00 p.m. Dinner in the oven. To the living room to play with the boys.

5:15 p.m. Cell rings. Chris is on his way home.

5:28 p.m. Chris pulls into the drive.

5:35 Enchiladas done. Assemble everyone's plates for dinner.

5:45 Sit down to eat and try to have a few bits of my dinner while I feed Gavin his before mine is ice cold. (It usually is by the time I get to sit down and eat.)

6:10 p.m. Done with dinner. Dishes to the sink. Clean up later. I"m going to enjoy some free time while Daddy plays with the boys.

6:30 p.m. To the computer to check e-mails, make a few phone calls.

6:40 p.m. Daddy brings Gavin to me. He had a surprise in his diaper for me.

6:45 p.m. Boys to the bath.

7:20 p.m. Boys out of the bath.

7:30 p.m. Get Devin dressed and let him play on the porch with his bubbles (as I promised as a bribe to get him out of the tub since Gavin was getting cranky.) I explain to him that if he gets off of the porch he will come inside. He ads "Stay on porch. If get off come inside and go night night." I giggle and reply yes...very good Devin.

7:35 p.m. Nurse Gavin

7:45 p.m. Put Gavin to bed.

7:50 p.m. Outside to play with Devin until it gets dark.

8:15 p.m. Back inside.

8:20 p.m. Sit on couch with Devin and laptop. Let him watch and episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while I surf the web.

8:50 p.m. Brush Devin's teeth, take him to pee.

9:00 p.m. Daddy and I take him to bed and do the exausting bedtime rituals.

9:10 p.m. Back to the couch for a little while.

9:15 p.m. Devin sprints into the living room. Take him back to bed. He cries saying something like "Green LIGHT." I have NO idea what he is talking about. I try to let him show me but I'm thinking it was just a ploy to make it back to the living room since he ran in there and acted like he was just going to watch t.v.

9:30 p.m. Load dishwasher, wipe down counter tops, chairs, tables, sweep floor, start dishwasher, pick up toys, tidy up the house.

9:55 p.m. Brush teeth and get ready for bed myself- FINALLY!

10:15 p.m. To bed. Yeah! Until tomorrow...do it ALL over again.

While I'm sure there are a lot of SAHM's that do more than this everday- I think it just goes to prove it's a 24/7 job. I'm pretty sure this doesn't list absolutely everything that I did that day. I'm sure there was a phone call or two in there, another diaper, ect. No sick days, no vacation, to personal time. :) While I absolutely LOVE every minute of it and my life is exactally what I have always dreamed of, it is still a very hard job. But, the rewards are constant and it makes it totally worth every second of lost sleep and poopy diapers. I can say I LOVE MY JOB!

Big Cheese Lunch with Friends

Great Time with Friends at the Idol Concert

A few weeks ago me and some of my friends headed up to Kansas City for some kidless girl time. It was part of Jeannie's birthday present for us all to head up that way for the concert BUT- I think it was a little gift to all of us. We met up at a Thai resturant and then headed to the concert at the new Sprint center. Although I didn't watch Idol this year- and really didn't know any of the people at the concert I did have a blast. They played a lot of music that I like and of course I had great company. On top of that the winner was a local boy so it was pretty crazy. I really don't think there was an empty seat in the house!

Outing with Mommy

Devin and I have started going to the library every few weeks to get new books. He usually is more interested in playing with the toys than looking for books- but that is ok with me. I want to start taking him to the story time on Tuesdays, so we'll see if I get brave enough.
After we were done at the library I decided to take the boys to the park...ALONE! That was a workout! I didn't think to pack a stroller- mostly because I didn't plan on taking them to the park. Devin had fun none the less. When we were done there we met an old friend of mine that I used to work with at Dr. Ramos's office for lunch. Thanks for a fun lunch Kay! It was so great to see you again. We need to make a habit of it!
