Have You Ever Seen An Elephant Riding A Tiny Train?

Ok, this elephant costume was made by my extremely talented grandmother, Mary Ann, FOR DEVIN'S 1ST HALLOWEEN! Ha Ha! Needless to say it was plenty big back in October of 2006! I thought the head was plenty big and wondered if he might enjoy putting it on and playing "elephant". Did he ever! He didn't want to take it off! I had several good laughs while he stomped around saying "Devin's an ELEPHANT!". As you can see the suit part of the costume is a little too small. We couldn't get it to stay shut in the back....but he didn't seem to mind too much. I hope everyone gets as good of a chuckle as we did over this.

Gavin's New Skill

Gavin is starting to master a new skill....PULLING UP! While this is another exciting milestone it is also scary because he's not stable enough to get down nor does he understand that he can't just reach for something while he is pulling up. He has had his fair share of falls and bumps in the last few days and I have concluded that I can't leave him unattended in a room-ANY room at all anymore. If I do it's just a few minutes before I hear cries because he has tried to pull up on something that can't support him or he has tried to do a little more than his coordination allows at this time.

It was nice for awhile because he would play for quite some time alone or just watch whatever Devin was doing and I could actually get something done. The little booger is quiet and sneaky now and next thing you know he's in another room causing mischief!

I really don't remember Devin getting hurt when he would try to pull up on things but he was much older when he started doing this.

Wish me luck while I'm trying to keep him in one piece!

YUMMO! Lunch Time!

Too Many Rainy Days = Lots of Projects!

Since the weather has been so nasty lately with all the rain I've been trying to do lots of projects with Devin.

We've made Fuzzy Caterpillars, Pipe Cleaner Snakes, little foamy dogs, monkeys, lions, elephants, and paintings. It's lots of fun to watch him to his projects and he gets so excited when I ask if he wants to do one. He always takes of sprinting to the kitchen table and crawls up in his chair. His favorite part of every project is gluing on the googly eyes. Such a fun little boy!

This Smile Just Melts My Mommy!

Helping Mommy

Devin keeps asking me if he can feed Gavin so this morning during breakfast I thought "What the heck?". As you can tell in the video he was having a blast doing it. Gavin....not so much, but he's a good sport! I was about to laugh hysterically while he was feeding him. TOO CUTE!

Brotherly Love

This afternoon Devin awoke from his nap asking for a "Puff" snack. We've been giving Gavin the Gerber Puffs to snack on during meals. Devin LOVES them too and we'll give him a few from time to time. It was too cute at first because when Devin first started asking for them I would say no and he would say "Those are Drew's". (Drew is one of the younger boys we get together with in our playgroup.) The next thing I knew Devin has his little bowl sitting on the floor in the toy room trying to share his Puffs with Gavin. At the time Gavin just had a handful of mush since he has awhile before he masters the pincer grasp. While it was SO sweet of Devin to think of his little brother this now opens a another form of interaction I have to watch out for.

1....2....3....MELTDOWN!

Ahhh, life with a toddler. This just happens to show you how they can be as sweet as can be and then BOOM! Another suddenly ANGRY child just magically appears. Then...seconds later....my little sweetie is back. Can't WAIT for this stage to be over! He was mad that he had to wear a shirt. LOL It was quickly approaching nap time in his defense. :)
