Here is the video of Gavin and his first taste of birthday cake. He was crying at first because everyone was singing "Happy Birthday" to him. LOL As I mentioned...not quite the social butterfly!

Notice in the background in the last 10 seconds of video Devin has the candles on the big cake singing "Happy Birthday" to himself! LOL My silly little boys! It doesn't get much better than this!

Gavin's 1st Birthday Party!

Last night was Gavin's 1st birthday party! We had a great time and a pretty good turn-out...33 people to be exact. We were expecting 40 but we had a few people cancel at the last minute.

It was a pretty laid back party and Gavin is very lucky to have so many friends and family members that care so much about him. He got LOTS of presents and I'm going to have to find room once again in the toy room! I'll have to get used to this January birthday stuff. After getting organized after Christmas I'll have to do it all over again a month later!

Gavin is not quite what I would call a "social butterfly" but he warms up to people after awhile. He seemed to enjoy his cake and freaked out a little bit, as predicted, when everyone was singing happy birthday to him. He's not fond of being the center of attention. It just reminds me of how different these two boys are!!!! And, can you believe it? Gavin doesn't like ice cream?!?! I know that's not something he inherited from me OR his father!

As usual I decided to make most of the food on my own and, once again..... question my initial thoughts once I'm in the middle of the preparations. But, after it's all done I realize how much I really enjoy doing things like that and I'll most likely continue to do so for the next 17 years....ATLEAST! We had sub-sandwiches, macaroni salad, fruit salad, chips, veggies, cole slaw, punch, cake and ice cream. And of course I didn't do it without help. Grandma Carol and Aunt Edith were a big help the day of the party helping me prep some food and decorate. (And making extra trips to Wal-Mart for bread since their "It will be done in 15 minutes" actually took about 2 hours!) FRUSTRATING!

Thanks again to everyone for coming to his party! We're already looking forward to Devin's party in April!

After the aquarium we went to Jeannie and Michael's house for dinner. Chris was in Wichita overnight for more training and Jeannie's husband was out of town as well.

The boys had fun playing doctor. Devin seemed to hog being the doctor most of the time, but Michael didn't seem to mind. He was a great patient even though Devin have him HUNDREDS of shots!

It amazed me to see Devin mimicking some his doctors actions. He put the stethoscope on Michael's back to listed to his heartbeat and told him to lie back. After he was finished he would tell Michael to get up and that he was all better. LOL None of this with any prompting. So cute. I loved watching them play this.

Thanks Jeannie and Michael for the fun night! We had a blast as usual!

Yesterday we went to the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks with Jeannie, Michael, Mindy and Drew. Everyone had a great time. The boys of course loved looking at the exhibits and we of course liked looking at the boys, looking at the exhibits.

Thanks so much Jeannie and Mindy for your help with the boys. It's brand new territory for me to have TWO mobile little ones! I'm almost positive I would have lost one of them had it not been for your help! Ha ha!

While my sister and daughter Izabel (aka Bella) were down I tried to get a few pics of her in her new dress. She wasn't too interested in having her picture taken so I only got 2 pictures of her and one of them looks like she doesn't have any arms. LOL

Anyway...thought I'd share some pics of my cutie of a niece.

New Project

We did a new project the other day and Devin had a blast doing it. I didn't get to take any pictures while we were doing it but I thought I'd take a picture of the finished product. We made it using yarn, pom poms, googly eyes, some hand buttons I had stashed away, and pipe cleaners. We plan on doing this project again and again! I'm sure we'll have a few of the fluffy friends laying around!
